Our salmon

Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) and Seareared trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) are widely and increasingly enjoyed as fresh and
wholesome food options. The bright pink color of its meat makes it desirable and a feast for the eyes. Salmon and trout are
rich in important minerals, vitamins, Omega-3 fatty acids and contain a high ratio of protein.

Atlantic salmon is a fish of the family Salmonidae which includes both Atlantic salmon and Pacific salmon. Other fishes in the
same family are usually called trout that is for example Seareared trout and Brown trout.

Conditions for Ice Fish Farm are perfect for growing healthy fish of exceptional standards in the crystal clear Atlantic waters.
The seawater purity in eastern fjords of Iceland and comparatively low seawater temperature enables Ice Fish Farm to deliver superior high quality 3.5+ kg salmon and 1kg+ trout to customer throughout the world. In addition to this no additives such as
antibiotics, chemicals or delousing are needed, which makes it possible to produce „All Natural“ goods that may be difficult or
impossible to produce elsewhere.

High quality feed
We only use high quality feed from Havsbrun (same as Bakkafrost in Faroes Islands). The quality feed contains fish oil and fishmeal wich is cought in the North Atlantic. We only use natural coloring’s.

During the first year of production the eggs are fertilised and the fish is grown into approx.150-200 grams super smolt in
controlled freshwater environment. Subsequently, the fish is transported into seawater cages where it is grown out to full size in a clean and natural environment to 3.5+ kg Having reached harvestable size, the fish is transported to primary processing
plants where it is slaughtered, gutted and packed on ice in a box.

Species like Atlantic salmon (salmo salar) and Seareared trout (oncorhynchus mykiss) are rich in mega – 3 fatty acids. It plays a crucial role in brain function as well as normal growth and development.

Omega 3 fatty acids are necessary for human health and have number of health benefit but the body can´t make them – you have to get them through food.

Research shows strong evidence that the omega-3s boost heart health, lower triglycerides and does obviously good things for your joint.

Atlantic salmon and Seareared trout are also is full of high-quality proteins and low in saturated fat.
